We are a grassroots group of transgender, nonbinary, and gender diverse individuals and their loved ones who seek to build community for gender diverse folx and their loved ones. We provide opportunities to connect with community through our in person meetings, and virtual spaces, and come together to provide community sourced resources, feedback, insight, assistance, and more. This is not a professionally-run support group but rather a space to build community with each other.
We are a diverse group of gender diverse people, family members, friends and allies in the Kingston/Katarokwi Ontario area. We gather at least twice a month to share stories and experiences, provide peer support, and assist each other in navigating various challenges. Our meetings often involve a check in, group discussion, small breakout/1:1 discussions, board games and social time, and snacks provided by TFam and attendees.
TransFamily Kingston was started in 2012 by a few people looking for the support of others who shared similar experiences. It has continued to grow and evolve dynamically. TransFamily Kingston embraces and accepts anyone who is gender diverse and any family members searching for support or more information. We provide a safe and all-inclusive environment for group meetings, discussions, and sharing of experiences.
As an un funded grassroots group we rely on donations and volunteers to run- these supports vary based on resourcing.
