Created from photos taken from the windows of airplanes, Karen Gillmore's digitally manipulated images reveal the patterns of our civilization's footprint upon the earth. The hieroglyphic-like arrangements of suburban neighbourhoods, circuit-board acres of industrial parks, quilted fields, or the ink-line of a road snaking through a mountain wilderness, reflect the paradox of beauty in both creation and destruction.
